Looks like the jdk patch was not applied. Also, was the bsh tarball
copied? These two links specifically:

I reapplied the patch - the bsh tarball was already in place. Now the compile
gets stuck after about an hour:

Yep.
ln -sf motif21/libmawt.so /opt/jdk/jdk/jre/lib/i386/libmawt.so
This is in the BLFS instructions now but was not at 6.0 IIRC.
