Additionally, because I just installed KDE this evening, and it apparently is now set up to work flawlessly with HAL, I don't even have to issue a mount command to mount the floppy. I just have to stick it in the drive and click on the Floppy Drive label in a System-Level Konqueror window. And the drive mounts with whatever options I tell it to in the HAL setup. Even options that are not defined in the HAL /etc/fstab entry.
