Come on, Alex, did you even read my messages?
Yes. Your file (edited by substituting the proper iocharset, codepage
and fstype) creates the following additional fstab lines for me:
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto
users,exec,noauto,comment=managed 0 0
/dev/uba1 /media/usbdisk vfat
users,exec,noauto,comment=managed 0 0
/dev/hdd /media/cdrecorder auto
users,exec,noauto,comment=managed 0 0
/dev/hdb /media/cdrom auto
users,exec,noauto,comment=managed 0 0
As you see, there's no iocharset there, i.e. it doesn't work at all.
Sorry for not specifying the kernel version: 2.6.15-rc6. I really can't
downgrade because I removed hotplug. HAL's handler is invoked via udev rule.
This kernel version also forces me to use the "ub" driver instead of
"usb-storage", otherwise HAL ignores the hotplug events for USB storage
devices due to some sysfs race.
