popt originated from Redhat's rpm package. The tarball is available at ftp.rpm.org. > We are just using > the latest version. How much difference does autotools make on a 0.2 > SBU package anyway? The patch patches the configure script but because the autotools get executed, it will overwrite that. I am not bothered about the time, but about applying something that is not needed. The patch is *probably* useful on exotic arches since it updates config.sub and config.guess to the latest versions. > Your suggestion rolls back a current package for a negligible gain in > time. I don't agree with it. The final fix is negligible, replacing "if (arg == NULL || (((unsigned long)arg) & (sizeof(*arg)-1)))" with "if (arg == NULL)" will achive the same thing as the patch. -- Tushar Teredesai mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/~tushar/ -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
