No, I'm not getting tripped up. GIMP does not work with Gutenprint. It must use Gimp-Print. What indicated that I might be tripped up? GIMP will not look for libgutenprint. It wants libgimpprint. What is there to be tripped up about? However, if what you are saying is that the GIMP will use the extended Gutenprint plugin, then all would be well, however, this is way, way, different than the book says.
