A couple of things:

1. I think the word "then" is unnecessary in the first sentence.

2. I would end the first sentence after "portmap daemon". If you
have a restrictive hosts.deny file, then adding an entry for portmap
in the hosts.allow *must* override any hosts.deny rules. Otherwise
it wouldn't allow access. In summary, I think after "portmap daemon"
is redundant.
