I've already put several LFS packages on the mirrors because they are no 
longer available on kernel.org.  As they do get things back in order, 
we'll change back.  I can do the same for BLFS packages.

Personally, I generally don't use PAM.  To me it gets in the way, but 
then the systems I build are basically single user without any outside 
access.  In the rare (for me) case where there are a lot of users, I 
would add it.

Yes.  The first package I build is bc because I use it for build 
statistics in my scripts.  That hasn't changed since 2001.  <aside>It 
still needs the 4 seds though.  I note that there is a development 
version of bc-1.06.95.tar.bz2 from 2006 that doesn't need the 
seds.</aside>
