I have gone through all the pages of the book and checked which packages have
updates of at least lfs70. Here are some stats:

$ grep -r lfs70 *|grep -v svn|wc
     428 881 20540
$ grep -r lfs71 *|grep -v svn|wc
     187 395 8799

I would like to make a request for consistency about the placement of the lfs7x
tags. In some cases we have:

title
intro paragraph(s)
note or caution
lfs7x_checked

in other cases we have

title
intro paragraph(s)
note or caution
lfs7x_checked

I'd like to ask each editor to use the 2nd form (where applicable). It gives
the pages a much more consistent look.

Secondly, these are the pages I found not to have a lfs7x tag. In some cases,
I
think it was just forgotten, but if we could get each editor to do some, it
would be a big help. In no particular order:

recode
unzip
cvs
iced-tea
wpa_supplicant
mod_dnssl claimed by krejzi
lib-usbcompat claimed by krejzi
libatimic_ops
libdaemon
comface
unixODBC
graphviz
speex
nano claimed by krejzi
tcsh
zsh
dash
libesmtp
enchant
lzo
libmpeg3
fetchmail
mutt
realpine
tin
sendmail claimed by me
musicbrainz claimed by me
vorbis-tools claimed by me
ldap
balsa
iced-tea-web
pan
libdv
avifile
lsb_release (new-needed)

Additionally the following boot scripts still need to be updated. I will do
all
of them:

avahi
sendmail
soprano
virtuoso

After these are updated the 'functions' file (/etc/init.d/functions) that is
currently in lfs will be removed as none of the scripts will then use it.

I am also going to update lfs section 9.1 to install the /etc/lsb-release file.
