I've been looking at the gnome deprecated packages. The first problem I
ran into was that orbit2 does not like the current glib.
Next I looked at what we really need these for. The dependencies look like:
libgnomeui
LibBonoboUI
libgnome
libbonobo
ORBit2
gnome-vfs
gnome-mime-data
libgnomecanvas
The only mentions of these in other packages are:
libgnomeui
xulrunner o
seamonkey o
firefox o
thunderbird o
balsa r
gnucash r
gnome-vfs
xulrunner o
seamonkey o
firefox o
thunderbird o
xine-lib o
gnucash r
gnucash and balsa both have more recent releases that may not need these
packages and the mozilla apps are for gnome2 integration.
I propose that we try the new gnucash and balsa apps and if they don't
need the deprecated gnome packages, drop them from the book.
