It was not within gnome. > > This time around I deliberately did not install these packages: > > gnome-icon-theme-3.12.0 > gnome-icon-theme-extras-3.12.0 > gnome-icon-theme-symbolic-3.12.0 > > After installing the full gnome desktop nothing complained about these > packages missing during compilation and from what I can tell no icons > are missing because these packages were not installed. This not true. IIRC, David was the one who told this. I took dome time for me to test what he said, I still can demonstrate in my system, because they all are installed now. Problem is related to som being dependent of gtk+2 (gnome-icon-theme) others, gtk+3 (adwaita-icon-theme). The following packages need gnome-icon-theme-3.12.0 and some, if not all, do not work with adwaita: xsoft/other/ekiga.xml: <xref linkend="gnome-icon-theme"/> xfce/core/thunar.xml: <xref linkend="gnome-icon-theme"/> xfce/core/xfce4-settings.xml: <xref linkend="gnome-icon-theme"/> Please, search the archives. This was discussed, and we do have reached a conclusion of not removing them. Unless you demonstrate that your suspicions for replacement work. -- []s, Fernando -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
