Sure. My impression of timings in qemu is that they are all over

Yes, my normal timing is about 2x the time on real hw.

The bridging that is in the book works now. The only issue is how to
get it to work with a non-root user.
At the moment my test-builds have stalled while I learn a bit more
about graphics drivers for BLFS in a qemu guest. I think I'll be
proposing that we build the modesetting driver instead of cirrus,
but I need to build a new kernel without CONFIG_DRM_CIRRUS_QEMU
first, to see what cirrus actually offers.
I'm not familiar with the modesetting driver. But I found this page to
