sleep 10 ; import -window root myscreenshot.png looks as if that will do the right thing (tested on icewm from desktop2, I got a shot of desktop1) - I'll need to go back to runlevel 3 so I can use kf5 again to run the test. But first I logged out and tried to shutdown from sddm : failed, all of poweroff, reboot, suspend no longer work, but login still works. This is essentially the situation I was in with the elarun theme at the weekend - those options worked at first, then stopped working.
