Hi,
When upgrading to Firefox 41.0, the build failed with:

Actually, the behavior has changed for FF 41, see:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1167201
There are two possibilities:
a) Add --disable-gconf to mozconfig
b) Make gconf a recommended dependency
Thoughts?
Same goes for thunderbird, btw. Has been mentioned by several people
before, but strangely still didn't make it into the book.
First, I didn't do the update, but I defend who did it.
Tim, we are not perfect, who did the update probably was expecting me to
do it and didn't took note of the problem.
The only strange thing is your use of "strange"; Unfortunately, or no
adverb at all would have been nore fortunate use of words.
Sorry for my wording, then, if that is considered offensive. Just really
sursprised me that all the rest like the sqlite change and the system cairo
stuff went in, but not the gconf issue that started the whole thread on ff
41.0. That's why I put the strange there, maybe just me being paranoid.
During a freeze period before a release, we are primarily testing the
book's instructions for build and basic operation. We don't test for
every possible dependency. If a dependency does not do something, it
will probably be missed.
The best way to ensure something is looked at is to create a ticket. We
do not release with open tickets in the target's milestone.
We have had problems with spam in tickets in the past, so getting
privileges is a manual operation, but all you have to do is ask me.
Yes, I wouldn't mind getting the privilege to create tickets, as I
occasionally stumble on some minor issues, despite the generally very high
quality of the books.
