Beyond that, I've now got to do my tax return (that always takes

Well, this (LFS,BLFS) is too addictive. I'm partly back, and
spending more time on this than I ought to. But I will never
achieve the workrate of Sisyphus, so I plan to spend my time
differently - and hopefully NOT devote it all to LFS/BLFS.

At the moment I've just completed a build of my normal desktop on
the new box - using the gold linker for the kernel and everything in
BLFS, but with a couple of issues. More details to follow at some
point, perhaps not until after I have built the TeX stack and
kf5/plasma (for the latter, I expect slow progress - several new
packages, so probably some dependencies I have omitted until now
(e.g. until now I have avoided Pulse), and probably some of them
need the infernal qt/kf5 static libs.

I spotted a few points of detail along the way, and I plan to fix
those. I've also got to fix a few local issues (printer not showing
up, console (LFS) keymap not working as I expected, and a few other
things need to be tested.

And if Fernando doesn't beat me to it, I'll take a look at the new
version of asymptote (there was a report, I think on the tlbuild
list, that glut is now required).

Beyond that, I hope to mostly build-test. If I get time, I will
expand my current scripts to include more of the packages which I
avoid like the plague, but no promises - there are so many of them,
and even trying to keep up with the general changes for what I
currently build is taking a lot more time than I had expected,
mostly due to Fernando's prodigious workrate. Yes, I know I could
use jhalfs, but in general I make my own choices for dependencies
and extra/alternative configuration switches.

Ken, I am grateful for any time you put into LFS/BLFS. I always find your input valuable.

May I suggest that you wait a week for a lot of your efforts as we will be going into a package freeze next weekend and will need to build everything in both books. I don't ask you to do that, of course, but anything you can do to help is appreciated.
