Probably, and possibly.
I'll try rebuilding vlc on an 8.4 system (I've already updated
libssh2 on those) to see if the newer gcc might be the problem. But
might take me a while - a busy weekend for me watching Eurosport
(particularly the cycling and ski-flying).
Identifying the exact dependency chain which pulls in libssh2 seems
less urgent (i.e. at the moment I'm not sure if it is the only
dependency, or one of a series).
