What I did: echo Start size: $(sudo du -skx --exclude home /) just after downloading, then echo Size after $packagedir: $(sudo du -skx --exclude home /) before each rm -rf $packagedir. Then took the maximal "Size after $packagedir" (reached after plasma-desktop) minus Start Size. This gives me the estimated disk space required (found around 360 MB) Then the installed size is computed as you say (found around 260 MB).
