I think I was unclear - if I use fcron to run a script which decides to mail me (or not), everything is fine (and fcron doesn't get involved in the mail part). if I use fcron to run, and mail, a script which writes to stdout, the mailto part "works" (correct recipient gets a message) but the message is empty (no subject, apparently no To:, no message text).
