Hi Everyone

I have completed building GNOME 2.12.2 without any errors (which is quite surprising for me :-)
but after running startx I get 2 Problems:

1. Fonts:
I can see the fancy new splash-screen for about 2 seconds before X.org shuts down because it couldnt find any Fonts in
"<dir>/usr/share/fonts</dir>" which is the standard-dir
I can solve this problem with adding an extra font dir in the fontconfig-file, adding some fonts I found:
"<dir>/usr/lib/X11/fonts</dir>"

(Though Im not happy with this, doesnt feel like the best way to solve this)

2. Error message at startup
After adding the new line and running startx again, I can actually see the end of the splashscreen ( YAY ^^) but an error-message shows up immediatly after that, saying nothing, meaning there is NO text in it, all I can do is stop X with CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE
(menu is not working either...)
A really odd thing is happening after starting X again:
I get a different error-msg saying that a panel is already running and now being shut down.
All I see after clicking OK is the grey standard background...

I have read several mails about the same or similar problems but none had a solution
This is what I tried so far:
- Added as many Variables to the shell as possible like XDG_... etc (which is unnecessary because I installed in /usr ??)
and recompiled and reinstalled packages like
      - gnome-menu (with all deps)
      - gnome-mime-info (with all deps)
      - gnome-panels (with all deps)
(I read somewhere that this wont be much of a help but I thought I'd give it a try :-)

This is it (so far ^^) I hope someone can give me a hint or something...
