I think you said this in your next post, but it looks like you've used udev to create the e1000 device rather than the default eth0. In that case, the fix is very simple. The bootscripts are going to look for /etc/sysconfig/network-devices/ifconfig.e1000. You probably have .../ifconfig.eth0.
