Note : I read recently on this mailing list that there were some bugs in
old releases of udev (I run the udev of LFS 6.1 ie 056) so I installed
udev-096 and linux 2.6.16.26 but it generated so many error messages at
boot from udevd that I came back to my current config (hopefully, I had
made a backup of the entire system before).
When upgrading to the newer kernel and udev, did you also upgrade the
LFS bootscripts and udev rules? Without them, you'll probably not get
very far.
Simon.
ooops, you are right Simon. I did update the udev rules but forgot to
update the LFS bootscripts.
I read again the "How about cold plug your devices ?" subject and
realized that a Logitech device was involved as well.
So udev may very well be the cause of the problem.
I will update my system soon and will let you know if it has resolved
the problem.
Thanks
Yves
