No, except that building X gives me the willies. All that arcane
imake/host.conf makes me feel like Ash in "Army of Darkness" - I fear
that one wrong syllable in the incantation will summon hordes of the
undead from my motherboard. Still, if tweaking the kernel .config
doesn't fix things then upgrading X is the next thing to try (with my
trusty boomstick close at hand just in case).
No kidding. For all the trouble of splitting X into hundreds of
packages with autotools, I feel much better about what's going on.
Even though the autotools are an equivalent amount of black magic :)
But you could probably upgrade painlessly just backing up /usr/X11R6.
Except, of course, for the always painful fonts.
