OK Guys,
Just when I started feeling comfortable with figuring out version
dependencies I ran into this. I'm compiling xmms-1.2.10. I ran the
configure out of the book and I got the following errors. I ran
'pkg-config --modversion glib-2.0' and got 2.10.3. Isn't 2.10.3 > 1.2.2?
Or is glib-2.X a whole different package than glib-1.X? OK, now I'm
really confused. I just started poking around trying to find out about
that glib-config message and I did a find and the only place I find that
file is in the pkg-config-0.20 directory. I figured maybe I didn't
install pkg-config properly so I re-compiled and re-installed it. I did
another find and still the only copy is in the pkg-config source
directory. I did a 'pkg-config --modversion pkg-config' and got back
0.18. What am I missing???
