While compiling Control Center-2.14.2, I got the following error
message:
********************************************************************************
checking for FONT_METHOD... yes
checking for FONT_THUMBNAILER... yes
checking for FONT_CONTEXT_MENU... yes
checking for FONT_VIEW... configure: error: Package requirements
(gnome-vfs-2.0 >= 2.0.0    xft >= 2.1.2    gtk+-2.0 >= 2.8.12
libgnomeui-2.0 >= 2.2.0) were not met:

Requested 'xft >= 2.1.2' but version of Xft is 2.1.0

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables FONT_VIEW_CFLAGS
and FONT_VIEW_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

To my knowledge I never compiled xft myself. Also xft was not mentioned
in either the Required or Optional dependencies of Control Center. I
googled for xft to find out if I could install it directly. But I
understand that it is not wise to install anything not recommended in
LFS/BLFS. So how do I proceed now?
Thanks and regards
