None of this works. I have always been able to ssh in. the problem is getting 
an application to display back to the machine I am logging in from. I initially 
tried logging in with ssh and then setting the DISPLAY variable. That didn't 
work. Then I tried to enable X Forwarding. Same thing. I always get 'unable to 
open display'.
