Yes, that's the case for me. I don't use the file explorers. I do like
having the toolbar and the ability to launch a browser by cliking on the
icon on the tool bar. I also like having different workspaces so I can
switch from one task type to another. So, I have one workspace with
all my browser instances, another with my e-mail client, and two others
with collections of xterms. I also like having a little clock on the
toolbar, and being able to pull up the keyboard locker with a click.

That sounds like me, as well. I do almost all system maintenance
using the CLI. One place I don't is with CUPS, where I use the
"local web interface".

I use eog for that, but the idea is the same. I use a command line
to view them. Since my version of eog is broken, I use gimp to print.

No, what you describe sounds mostly like the way I use my box, but
I do like multiple workspaces and some sort of toolbar. If fluxbox
provides that, then I'm happy. Both GNOME and KDE are 98% bloat, IMO.
