LFS and BLFS system ( KDE-4.7.4) were built on a desktop. The system is
working there without problems. The system is:

LFS-7
BLFS svn 2011.12.19
Xorg 7.6.2
Kernel 3.1

I unpacked an image file (fsarchiver) from the desktop's system into a new
partition in a ThinkPad laptop. This image works also without problems until I
make any changes in the kernel's .config or even recompile it as it is: The new
kernel reeboots normal until the kdm login mask shows up: mouse and keyboard
are frozen, nothing more works and the laptop has to be killed.

I have tried several .config's. It doesnt even work, if I compile the original
one again, withouth changing anything. Only the original "bzImage" works! The
situation remains if I change KDM by Slim: no mouse, no keyboard.

I do not know anything more I could do and I do not understand what the problem
could be. Can anyone make a suggestion ?
Help very appreciated.

Edgar
