So, I ripped out all the kernel stuff on my LFS-6.6 development, replacing a clean 32.7 kernel source, and the original as-built. Then I patched up to 34.13. I was careful as I could be about the options. This version seems to have almost nothing in the way of DRM graphics drivers, mostly frame-buffer drivers, saw nothing about KMS. So then I compiled avoiding frame buffers, though there was one FB option nothing I could do would deselect. The MTRR/polygon-fill errors were still there. Then I recompiled with the FB drivers built-in, and the errors remained. This wasn't unexpected, but I had to try it.
I'm not sure what direction to proceed. I'm beginning to wonder if fixing the polygon-fill error might bring some joy. I think I'll back off for a day or two and see what inspiration comes. Still open to suggestions, of course. TIA -- Paul Rogers [email protected] http://www.xprt.net/~pgrogers/ Rogers' Second Law: "Everything you do communicates."
