 That is a sound recommendation, but I query your build order -
we recommend cups as a dependency for gutenprint.  Also, ijs is
needed for cups-filters - but perhaps hpijs can provide that
dependency (it's needed because cups-filters builds all possible
filters - many of us don't need it, but with the hp perhaps that
part *is* needed).

 Also, building cups before gtk+-{2,3} makes the print queues
available to gtk apps.  I know Roy is using kde, but I'll bet he has
some gtk apps.
