OK, did that. The yelp command from the command line works, but from
cheese I still get the message as above. I tried rebuilding cheese. I
didn't think it would make a difference since it should be a run-time
dependency, and indeed I still get the same message.
I do have the populated directory /usr/share/help/C/cheese (no LANG or
LC_ vars set).
Any other ideas?
With Armin's help on IRC, this is solved. I was going too fast when I
built glib and missed the runtime dependencies. I did not have
desktop-file-utils installed. Installing that and running
update-desktop-database fixed this problem.
