It is good to know it's possible. Would you mind sharing more about your
system and build process?
Sure. To start with I am using a development build:
LFS 2016-08-06 Systemd
BLFS 2016-08-14 Systemd
GNOME 3.20 desktop
Hardware is a Samsung NP350V5C laptop
Intel® Core™ i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz × 4
Intel® Ivybridge Mobile graphics (on-board graphics)
6.0 GB RAM
32.0 GB USB 3.0 flash drive.
VLC-2.2.4 with all Recommended dependencies and probably most of the
optional plugins that are part of the book.
Interesting. I guess I should try systemd again. I was turned off last
time I tried it because halt didn't shut it down.
I wouldn't recommend switching because of this issue. I doubt systemd
has anything to do with it. I wanted a GNOME 3 desktop (and to learn
more about systemd) which is why I am using it.
