The libpng documentation clearly explains an optional patch is necessary for png functionality in Firefox.

"Optional patch to include animated png functionality in libpng
(required to use the system libpng in Firefox, Seamonkey, and
   Thunderbird):"

If Firefox is intended to be compiled when BLFS is built the note should be noticed and the patch installed. No problem. However, if Firefox is compiled after building BLFS it seems the optional patch could be missed as gtk/gdk-pixbuf/libpng were compiled without Firefox in mind. In that case I could see a user not drilling down through gdk and seeing the note.

So, would it make sense to list the libpng patch as a dependency in the Firefox documentation? Or perhaps just a note?

Just a thought, and perhaps the patch won't be around for long, making a note unnecessary.
