I've just powered that box up again, and this time the maximize icon
did maximize firefox AND return it to its normal size.
Just another of the many weird things I've been seeing recently (e.g.
two or three times on that system the box seems to have stalled for a
minute or so - last time was yesterday, and fortunately I was running
icewm and could see some red "dots" in its cpu monitor, eventually
giving way to a fully-red box which then decreased in height
(percentage - full height is all cores at 100%) down and rolled out).
Thought I'd better test firefox again, because I'm going to put
57.0.1 into the book even though it is not urgent for most users ;-p
And I'm sorry this won't be any help for the rhubarbpieguy's
problem.
