Ok. >From the 'error message' that you seem to be getting, have you in fact as such turned on the SMTP authentication?
Also, I think that the gmail smtp server in fact needs a TLS secure connection or something. I also have a gmail account, and apart from the fact that I needed some sighted friend to help me enable POP3 access, I read the messages using that portable thing called Popcorn, but have set up JPMail to send messages as such. Obviously I don't as such actively use that address for much or else I probably would also have tried to set it up on OE or something.
