Been on that mailing list for months now, and I think I mentioned this
training thing a couple of weeks ago already.

Was basically just posting this info on the blind-computing list since I was
looking for info specific to another product, and also as a sort of more
general (not specifically linked to any specific software package)
notification that I'd now sort of officially be moving (literally) into
blind-computing (training).

However, no lies, I'll definitely be 'marketing' NVDA to these guys,
especially since it can, for example, speak Afrikaans this side.

Stay well

Cool, good luck. May I invite you to join the NVDA list? If you take this
offer, send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word subscribe
in the subject line. Finally, reply to the confirmation message, and you'll
join the hundreds and thousands who admire the work and talents these
programmers have into producing NVDA, which, so far, is a pretty darn good
screen reader despite it being free. Enjoy!

No worries.

Will definitely be making sure the involved guys know about stuff like
Thunder, NVDA etc. etc. Apparently the one person just already has this
Dual stuff, and FWIW, as a programmer I basically use Jaws since some of the
development environments I work in need the video intercept functionality,
but I'll definitely also be testing out the free screenreaders with the
course material etc.

Stay well

Jacob, this is what I can't understand about Sensory Software. They don't
produce demos for *any* software they produce, Dual being no exception. I'm
sorry that you can't try it out for yourself, but I am wondering, however,
whether Thunder could be at least an alternative? I've never tried Lookout
myself, but I believe they're quite similar to each other, except that
Thunder is free for the majority of us, whilst Lookout you have to pay a
slightly expensive price (£105 here in the UK). Sorry about that mate, but
good luck with your course anyway.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Dual screenreader/magnifier software

Hi there

First off, is there any place on the 'net that I can find a demo of the
above software so I can 'play' with it etc.?

Secondly, the reason for this is that I'm starting going through the MS
Office certification course with a local organisation that specifically
trains blind/disabled people, and then does whatever to try help them get
jobs etc.

While this specific course isn't really anything I would have considered in
the past since I've basically always been into programming, I'm actually
going to be doing this one from both sides, which means that I'll also be
involved in helping to instruct/help out the other people who'll be there at
the same time, and if this all goes well, then I may even be becoming one of
their instructors/trainers.

Anyway, of the people who'll be involved in this specific instance, some of
them (like me) will be using Jaws, but apparently there's at least one
specific person who'll be using the Dual screenreader/magnifier software,
which is made by a company called Sensory Software, but although I've found
a website for them, manuals/tutorials etc., I haven't found any place to
download a demo as such, so I was just wondering if there was in fact such
an instance of this software?

Thanks in advance
