HI Lisa.

As David G said, cache is the same as your temporary internet files. I
clear mine regularly too because sometimes a site will act really funny and
not give you the latest version of a web page, but only use the cached
version. Also, I clear my cache, including offline content, any time I
make any online perchases. It keeps the web browser at
its maximum performance and in my opinion at its best level of security. In
I.E. 6, you go to tools, options, and on the general page you click on
temporary internet files delete files. I check the box that says delete all
offline content also,, and then I press ok. It's a good idea to get in the
habit of doing that as part of your maintenance.

David, does IE 7 not make a distinction between temp files, history, and
cookies? I sure would hope not.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] What is cache?

Hello everyone,
Someone on another list that I'm on was talking about there computer running
slow, and someone suggested emptying the cache. What is cache, and how
would I go about clearing it? Also, how would I know if I need to clear it?
I have never heard of cache before, so I figured it might be something that
I need to add to my regular computer maintenance routine. I have windows XP
home, and jaws 8. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
Take care,
Lisa
