You can skip deleting pass words if you want to. Devona ----- Original Message ----- From: David Griffith To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2007 11:44 AM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] What is cache?
Cache normally refers to temporary internet files held on your computer. I believe the term relates back to the old Netscape browser which called temporary internet files the cache. The cache was very important in the days of slow narrow band connection but I believe is less so in the age of broadband where downloading a page from scratch does not take a long time. You can clear them if you want to by going to tools in Internet Explorer. I think in IE 6 it is under Tools Options and in IE 7 there is a whole section under tools called delete browsing history. Deleting these files may clear up some problems but be aware that your web browser may not remember passwords you have entered or continue to auto complete forms. Included in temporary files are actual copies of web pages, cookies and password and form information. I regularly clear my cache as some web pages seem to work better when I have done this. Provided you are on broadband the time spent loading pages is not too great. Hello everyone, Someone on another list that I'm on was talking about there computer running slow, and someone suggested emptying the cache. What is cache, and how would I go about clearing it? Also, how would I know if I need to clear it? I have never heard of cache before, so I figured it might be something that I need to add to my regular computer maintenance routine. I have windows XP home, and jaws 8. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
