I have to admit that you lost me about half way through the message but I think I know what you are trying to do. Since you said that you switch the network cable from one computer to the other, does the cable go to a router or a DSL/Cable modem? Let me know what your hardware setup is and hopefully we can go from there.

Also, do you think it's likely to work if I create a new connection if this one isn't working?
