Hi Lisa, Give this a try, it may simplify things for you. 1. From the control panel, select, automatic updates, press enter. 2. When the applet opens, tab once, and you will hear, automatic recommended, radio button, one of 4. 3. Down arrow once, and you will be on,download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them, radio button, 2of 4. 4. The default button here is okay, so at this point, just press enter, to accept the changes. Now, when updates become available from Microsoft, while you are on-line, they will be downloaded, but not installed, and this will show in the system tray. Use the link below, to help you to install updates that have been downloaded. This is a file I wrote during the installation process sometime last year. http://www.blind-computing.com/windows/tutorials/txt/using_automatic_updates.txt HTH, Richard Q. Hello everyone, I have my windows updates set so that I will be notified when updates need downloaded, and installed. About a week ago I had 4 updates that needed downloaded, so I downloaded them. The problem is that they never showed back up in my system tray to be installed. Does anyone know what might of happened to them, or how I can get them installed? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! I have jaws 9, and windows XP home.
