Along the lines of what some of the guys are sort of discussing in some of the other threads, I'll just say that a long time ago (around 1983) when I was sort of starting to teach myself programming on my Commodore 64, I learned the 'hard' way from then on to first save code before running it since I had been typing code in for around 3 and a half hours, but because we used tape drives in those days (weren't even floppy drives yet), I didn't feel like waiting the 10-20 minutes I knew it would take to save it before I could see if it worked, but I learned that from then on, always save your work before doing anything funny...
