Sorry to hear about your problems with VLC I have never had to use the Jaws
cursor. I Downloaded my version from the Jaw User program page. I am using
Jaws 8 with it and it appears to read all the menus fine.
.
You could possibly check out the hotkeys available by checking through the
Preferences menu option under settings. You need to go to Interfaces and
then hotkeys.

I have virtualised part of this screen so that you can get some kind of idea
though some bits comes out a bit garbled.

Hope this helps

Ok.

Along the lines of my previous hassles, I just tried:
vlc-0.8.6f-win32.exe

It's completely inaccessible, and I could nowhere find anything more than
previous track, next track etc. etc., as well as options for selecting
various subtitle languages, but nothing to do with narration languages, no
menu structure, no really accessible buttons to tab around etc. etc.

Just sort of managed to find something called a menu button, which then
reacts to a right-click, but with only some menu options as such.

Maybe this is a newer version or something, but for now, think I'll have to
just stick with Windows media player.

Stay well
