i agree, avg and antivir slow down things considerably for me. i switched to avast a while back and for me it is the easiest to use (once you set it up you never have to click another button on the program ever really) and as far as I am concerned protects my computer well. I also like the voice that tells you whenever an update takes place. regards chrissy
