Rick,
If all you want from the video cassette tape is the audio you can use gold 
wave. Just connect the audio out put from your tape player to the line in on 
your computer, unmute the line in under volume control and then use Gold 
Waves record feature. If you have only one sound card you'll have to turn 
Jaws off so you don't record what Jaws is saying. The record, pause, resume 
recording and stop functions are done with the f ( function ) keys so it's 
pretty easy to remember what to do after Jaws is turned off. Hope this is of 
some help.

     There are devices available through many of the computer stores that
connect between the VHS unit and the computer. They claim they work well. I
have only tried the audio version and couldn't get the software part to work
with JAWS. Perhaps someone else would have better luck with it?
