Hi Nancy, In your control panel, under Power options, you'll see a series of combo boxes with numbers and the word never.
Tab to the combo box that says system stand by and make sure the combo boxes say never. You should also control+tab to the hibernate page, and make sure the checkbox for enabling hibernation mode is unchecked, and that should keep your computer from powering down without you knowing it. tab to the apply button, followed by the ok button and you're good to go.
