I do not seem to have any kind of turn on/off switch. Just the cord that 
plugs into the drive for the power plug and the other slot for the cord to 
plug into the drive and then into my computer.
So I guess I could flip the switch on the power strip or unplug it from the 
drive.
I wasn't sure if I left it plugged in the power or the USB if it would pose 
any problems for my computer..

Thanks for this extra info on this matter, I feel I have a better 
understanding of how these things work.
