The instructions Rick gave you were correct. You should try again.  There
are other ways of showing hidden folders but try Rick's way again first.

The owners folder is the folder with your name so  there is no problem
there.  Can I ask why you are trying to get into the Local Settings folder?
It  is hidden for the reason that you do not normally alter anything here.
Changing settings is normally through other windows features such as applets
in Control Panel. If you tell us what you want to do then we may be able to
help more.

I went back just now.  I  went in to the documents and settings folder.  I
tried it still no go.  Come to think of it  There is no owners folder.There
is one that says my name and another that says all users  Could this be
because My hard drive crashed last month.  Dell came and put in a new hard
drive.  It all ready came with windows XP.  All I did was switched to the
classic view.  What else Can I do?  Sorry for the long post.  Any help would
