Have you tried restarting your PC? If it still doesn't work then, but if everything else on the machine seems normal, then it's most likely that the .exe file for word has somehow become corrupted, and you might need to reinstall office to repair it (not sure if that's a specific option in that installation, but anyway).
Apart from trying to sort out this specific problem it might also be best to run either chkdsk, or scandisk on your harddisk since this could be telling you that some of it is a bit corrupted or something, since it might be that this file has become corrupted as such.
