Hi Lois and Mich,
Just responding to both your question so as not to clutter the list with
this.
Mich, the manual is where the formatting instructions are, so if you pop
open the manual, you'll find the instructions on how to format the player
there.
Lois, if you feel down the left side of the player, below the shuffle/alpha
switch, and a few millimetres above the USB port, you'll feel a bit of an
indent where there is a hole you can thread a paper clip through, or the
dull end of a needle.
If your player ever goes bonkers and such, stick one of those in that hole,
and the player will reset itself.
