Not totally true concerning Firefox; go to bookmarks and then "subscribe to this page"; if there was no feed JAWS would say "unavailable" like the page is grayed, if it is there then JAWS would announce only the option and it would be possible to go further of course. OK, it means more key presses but it does no harm; LOL! With Thunderbird I saw the option of setting RSS feeds, I guess it's at the same place as setting the accounts if I remember correctly. Martina

Only IE has this feature. So again, it is impossible for a blind user to detect feeds in Firefox or Thunderbird without sighted assistance. And as with Firefox, there is no way to import your feeds list into Thunderbird from IE. However, you may be able to add feeds manually in Thunderbird by copying and pasting the URl for each of your IE feeds into the appropriate field of the RSS Subscription dialog of Thunderbird. You just won't be able to detect web pages that contain RSS feeds unless you use IE. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kate" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, December 12, 2008 5:04 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] accessibleRSS options for firefox > > This is why I had interest in thunderbird email client because it says it > can put RSS feeds into an email type version and it has another means of > allowing you to access RSS.
