Doug, Have you ever tried using the "StartMenu" instead of the "DeskTop?" I have never used the DeskTop because of the "mess" that you describe! Maybe you could even go to my computer, go into your c drive, press alt l and it should organize your desktop stuff in rows. If you have a real lot of icons on your desktop, try making a subfolder and putting some of them in there instead of cluttering the inbox.
