Hi,

I have done quite a bit of research on this subject during the past few weeks. The only viable solution is to use something like Jaws Tandem. In a nutshell, the computer that is being accessed remotely must be running some type of screen reader for a blind person to have any chance of remotely supporting that computer. The way all of the remote support software that I have found works, is that it transmits chunks of graphical information from the remote computer to the support computer. Since Jaws cannot interpret this graphical info, there is nothing for Jaws to speak. I have not tried the Tandem solution, because all of the computers that I would need to support would not be running Jaws. And it is unlikely that someone not running Jaws will allow me to install Jaws on their computer so that I can provide remote support. This is one of those situations where it makes more sense to have a sighted person doing the remote support. That's hard for me to say, but sometimes you have to go with what makes the most business sense.

HTH,
John
